Our commitment

Crescentic LLC is committed to making Lacuna Index usable by the widest possible audience, including people who use assistive technologies. This statement reflects our current posture and is revised as we close known gaps and ship new features.

Our target

We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA across the public marketing site, methodology and editorial pages, and the authenticated subscriber console at /app. New features are reviewed against these guidelines before they ship.

What we do today

  • Semantic HTML for landmarks, headings, lists, and forms.
  • Keyboard navigability for primary flows (sign-in, navigation, reading reports, managing communication preferences).
  • Visible focus styles on interactive elements and a strong color-contrast palette in our editorial dark theme.
  • Descriptive labels and ARIA attributes on icon-only buttons and on decorative imagery (marked aria-hidden).
  • Respect for the operating system's reduced-motion preference where applicable.

Known gaps

Lacuna Index has not yet been audited by an independent accessibility specialist. We are aware of the following limitations and are working to address them:

  • The console offers a single dark editorial theme. A high-contrast variant and a light theme are on the roadmap.
  • Some data-dense panels (forensic report tables, sector benchmark grids, run telemetry) have not yet been audited for screen-reader announcement quality.
  • Some charts and valuation-map visualizations rely on color to convey meaning; the underlying data is available in tabular form but the color-coded encoding is not yet fully exposed semantically.
  • We have not yet published formal compliance documentation (such as a VPAT/ACR).

Reporting an issue

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please tell us. We treat accessibility reports as priority bugs. When reporting, please include the URL, the assistive technology and browser you were using, and a brief description of what you expected to happen.
