Lacuna Index ("Lacuna", "we", "us") is committed to respecting the privacy of users who access our forensic-financial intelligence platform. This Privacy Statement describes the practices we follow with respect to the Personal Information we collect from subscribers, prospective subscribers, and visitors who interact with us through www.lacunaindex.com, our applications, and our communications.

"Personal Information" means information that identifies, relates to, or can reasonably be linked to you. We collect:

• Account information — name, email, password hash, role assignments.
• Subscription & billing — plan tier, billing references provided by our payment processor (we do not store full payment card data).
• Communication preferences — Weekly Brief opt-in status, followed sectors, content section selections, send timing.
• Usage & technical data — IP address, device characteristics, server logs, cookies, page views, feature interactions.
• Communications — emails we send and your engagement with them (opens, clicks); messages you send to support.

• To deliver Lacuna services, including reports, sector intelligence, and Weekly Briefs.
• To authenticate users and secure the platform.
• To process subscriptions, billing, and account changes.
• To send service emails (account, security, transactional notices).
• To send marketing communications, including the Weekly Brief — only when you have opted in. You can opt out at any time from your Subscriber Profile.
• To analyze usage and improve the platform (anonymous analytics, with your consent).
• To comply with applicable laws and to detect, investigate, and prevent abuse.

Lacuna does not sell your Personal Information.

We share Personal Information only with: (a) service providers acting on our behalf under contractual confidentiality (cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics, payment processing); (b) our affiliates, under the terms of this statement; and (c) authorities when required by law.

Depending on where you reside (EEA, UK, Switzerland, California, and other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws, Brazil, etc.), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your Personal Information, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can exercise most of these rights directly from your Subscriber Profile or by emailing privacy@lacunaindex.com.

We will not retaliate against you for exercising any privacy right.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure platform usage. Strictly Necessary cookies cannot be disabled (they enable login, security, and core navigation). Performance and Analytics cookies are used only when you grant analytics consent. We retain Personal Information only as long as needed for the purposes listed above and to comply with legal obligations. Account profile, subscription, and communication preference data are retained until you request deletion. Communication logs are retained for 24 months for deliverability monitoring. Analytics data is retained for 12 months. Security and audit logs are retained for 7 years where required by financial-services recordkeeping rules.

We use industry-standard physical, logical, and administrative safeguards including encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access control, and continuous security monitoring. No security control is ever guaranteed to be 100% effective; please use a strong unique password and sign out when finished, especially on shared devices.

Lacuna is operated from the United States. If you access the platform from outside the U.S., your Personal Information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. We use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for transfers from the EEA, UK, and Switzerland.

The forensic scoring on Lacuna is generated by AI-assisted models that operate on public filings and publicly available information. These outputs are research opinions intended for informed human review, not automated decisions that produce legal effects on you.

We may update this Privacy Statement from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to active subscribers. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
